I still think vw should have made the rear of the roof black to match. It just doesnt look right to me.

Probably wont react well to the bird droppings I have to suffer been next to the tyne/coast either
Would have e been nice for vw to offer a roof colour option like some of their other brands but sadly not.

I'm with Monkeyhanger - never seen the need for a sunroof... I too prefer a dark, snug interior and can do without being 'flooded with light'. And as for the price: £900  !!!!

You are not "flooded with light" the sunroof is very very tinted and it has a blind that you can close inside the car which blocks the sunroof out entirely if you so desired.

The benefits of having the sunroof are that it look's incredible even when you're not using it. It really splits up the roof and makes it look so much better. I disagree entirely with it only looking good on certain colour cars. It looks incredible on my Tornado Red GTI.

The sealant is very neat where it meets on mine Jimble. It was too dark for the photo to come out well though but I used the phones flash and could see it was very straight and perfect.

Here's a photo of my car at Midland VW having the wheel alignment checked and I think the roof looks beautiful with the sunroof.

Mine is same spec, beautiful looking car and yes I did consider wrap the remainder of roof..does its honestly look bad?? ive always wanted sunroof with tinted windows...when i want darth vaider then i close the sunroof cover, when i went the smoked look open the cover....
From a Pulsar GTIR, MK4 Golf 1.8t, BMW 1series, BMW 330, Merc C280, A3 TDi, A4 2.0t Quattro...on order Mk7 T/Red GTD nav/pan roof/dynoaudio and ABT headlight brow BW44!

Yes mate up close the gloss black wraps are terrible. It makes the car look cheap and there were imperfections on all 3 of mine i got done from different people. Would never get it done again. I got them to spray paint the roof black to make it look like sunroof on eclass coupe. Looked a million times better

Apparently the roof is supplied by Webasto - used to do the old can opener retrofit roofs in the 70's...  Makes me much happier with mine...

On a golf without the sunroof, is there a definite 'join/seam' where the roof meets the edges? If so, this will give a nice defined edge for wrapping/painting the roof if that is what you want...

Another valid point is I had 4 birds sh!t on the roof and it actually burnt the wrap and it would not come off. And if you look closely to a wrap on a roof you will see how cheap it looks round parts that are intricate.
