cheers jay, off to germany i go ............................  :lipsrsealed:

I could only get 10% off that price @ at £56.24 all in!
Well I did over 1000 miles to pick a car in Italy said it all TBF.
I remember buying 20l in Calais of Mobil one for half the price, Euro rate was good back then.
I have though about contacting a VW dealer in Calais at some point myself

I don't have an original to hand to measure, but could one of the side seals from woolies trim work?

http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-37-side-seals.aspx

Even the most expensive is only £11ish a meter, and you need ~2.5m for a mk2.

Think they're all too big, but good idea!

I've blown the front two drain holes out, to try and stop any coming down into the cabin.

Can you access the rear drain holes through the sunroof itself? If not, anybody know where they are supposed to come out? Pressumably in the wheel arch somewhere?

They do a 6mm rubber edge seal that might be small enough. Otherwise give them a call, they may be able to source something that isnt listed on their site.

As for the rear drain holes. They exist at the rear corners, coming inside to behind the roof lining, where a plastic pipe is attached which leads away to the rear arches. Unless you want to pull the roof lining down you may be best trying to "rod" the pipes from the rear arches. I need to get mk mk2 into the garage this evening, if I remember I shall try to get photos of where they come out for you.

For the sake of 15quid I might give it a go an let you all know.

Having said that my seal isn't too bad yet, so taking it off might be a mistake ...
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.
