I know there is a lot to read on the net but I have not found anyone talking about this problem of the car feeling like it wants to stall.

I am new to DSG boxes and I could possibly be looking for problems that aren't there but when I let the car pull me along in 2nd gear in slow moving traffic the rev counter needle drops and the car feels as though it will stall but in a split second it picks back up again.

Also I have been looking out for the juddering or kangarooing that some have been talking about and the only sign of this is when slowing down to a stop when the box selects 2nd gear and lurches very slightly, I mean it is hardly noticeable but it is there.

The car has done 88,700k and the DSG box has just had the oil and filter changed.

I have 3 months warranty with the dealer I bought it from so want to iron out all the possible defects before this is up.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it dropping revs below 700rpm? If so could be a range of breather problems affect the boxes ability to gauge gear selection?  Does it drop immediately to 1st once it realises that 2nd is too low on revs?

Hello and thanks for the reply

I was in slow moving traffic for a while this morning so got a chance to have a good look at what was happening with my revs, when they drop they go to 6 and a half thousand and sometimes five, I feel a jolt as though the car could stall and then they immediately pick up to 7 thousand again. when I was driving through slow moving traffic this morning the car was on a hill and this fault occurred almost every time I slowed to a crawl. It happened when crawling in 2nd gear and also when the car changed down to 1st at a stop. I noticed it doesn't happen so often when crawling along on a a flat road but does still occur intermittently.
If this could be breather problems do you think this could be the reason for the slight juddering I am experiencing when the car pulls away in second gear.

Thanks
