Has anyone ordered their GTI/GTD from the Cheltenham Volkswagen garage. Just wanting to know if anyone has had any problems with them, are they reliable etc, also has anyone received their car from the Cheltenham garage yet?

Hi there,

I had a good experience with my last car a scirocco,

Well when I say good experience I mean I waited 6 months to find that when they placed the order someone forgot to add the options on so they built a car to the standard spec!
Another 3 months later the correct car arrived!

That said it was human error and they were very courteous so just double check your shave been added!
Ordered a Golf GTI DSG Performance Pack in Pure White with Keyless Entry, Dynaudio, Rear View Camera and Panoramic Roof.

Currently driving a Scirocco 170 GT in Night Blue with Bluetooth, Rear Parking Sensors, DAB and Dynaudio.

Do you get a free shave as well? That's a very personal service. I wish I had used them now

My mk7 was ordered via Lee @ Chelt VW, KennyGTI ordered his R from Lee as well and I know there are a few others here.

I can't comment on the whole buying process yet but so far so good! One of the main reasons Lee was my first port of call was the fact he's a no nonsense guy who has a good forum presence and is not the normal corporate salesman.
I had my order number within a very short time of placing the order. The relevant paperwork was delivered to me and returned very quickly and he doesn't bother me with info he knows I can just pull off the forum and I don't bother Lee unnecessarily as he's a busy bunny who has a job to do! So all good so far.

Total buying experience so far as per most on here is the wait. I ordered mid-April and the car has only just gone into build but that's hardly Cheltenham's fault!!! Whether is was pure allocation (Chelt VW are a busy dealership and a good friend of mine uses their fleet department a lot for company vehicles of which he orders dozens) or whether an f-up at VW is neither here nor there as there's nothing can be done about that. A risk you take with early orders.

I quite like the idea of the shave though, when I pick up my car eventually I'll probably have worked an 11 hour night shift and then driven 130 miles or so to Lee and will be looking a bit rough round the edges so a shave might be welcome - but I'll settle for a coffee!!!

So all good so far and as Chelt VW are an Inchcape dealership the same as my local dealership I'm confident any post delivery issues can be sorted easily just the same as when I bought from another dealer in the group about four years ago.

VW themselves haven't covered themselves in glory here so I shall let my feelings be known to them after delivery but that has nothing to do with the dealership. If VW then see fit to shower me with a free voucher then fine but I won't hold my breath!!

In short - Cheltenham VW seem fine to me and Lee is the added benefit of using the dealership.

Morning

I have a GTD on order with Chelt - VW. My tracker says it has arrived in the UK. Would anyone be able to tell me when the dealership is likley to receive this and what sort of timescales I can expect to wait?

I have ordered a DPB GTD through my works Fuel n Go scheme

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can be up to two weeks for transport to your dealership and then anywhere between 2-5 days approx for PDI unless you apply some pressure on them.
