Those things should be banned!! They do so much damage to your paint. 
Especially the cheap ebay ones!
I didn't realise these things were bad. I was actually considering one for long journeys.
They sweat the paint plus if you get grit inside whilst putting it on then you'll have some lovely scratches.....
