Recommend me some uprated headlight bulbs

Having come from a car with xenons to a non xenon car, obviously the bulb brightness isn't as good.

Could someone please recommend an uprated bulb kit that will brighten up the road?

I would like a HID kit but it looks like you have to do a bit modifying to the bulb holders to get them to fit.

Osram Nightbreakers are about as good as they come.

Please don't fit a HID kit. Apart from the legalities, light scatter from non suitable reflector headlights etc, you'll look like a chav that is pretending he's got proper xenons.

Met  bulbs always seem to get great reviews.

i know this is a GTI forum but would these also fit on the missus' Polo (08 plate)?

Just fitted the nightbreakers last night. Anyone recommend side light bulbs. Sorry for hijack.  cheers gal.

Phillips Blue Vision are a very good match. They have very blue glass, but don't let that put you off, they put out a perfectly white light that fills the reflector, unlike LED's that just give a bright dot.

What was outcome with new bulbs, any good? Looking for some full beam bulbs
