Absolutely not, tail-gating is a real pain and should not be encouraged...my comment was in relation to heavy, slow moving motorway traffic when it is possible to to get a bit too close for a bit too long so that the symbol comes up on the dash!

Besides, thought tail-gating was the domain of BMW's

So far my red warning on the dash of a car inside a lane has only popped up twice, both times it was a cyclist that I was nowhere near.

I wonder whether the system is at all tied into the rain sensor e.g. wipers are on and car at any specific ADC setting isw flagging up a "you're too close" symbol at a longer distance than in the dry. It was pissing it down today and the detection of the car in front seemed more sensitive and predictable today.
