Cheers redpath. Presumably to connect an iphone 5 i would need the lightning adapter and for further media control i would need the 'red' cable as covered in a separate thread?

Also what about charging my iphone. Does this accessory come as standard?

yes you will need the lightening adapter but a lightening cable from VW is available next week

the red cable only comes with pro nav as far as i am aware

not sure about charging but i would imagine that it will charge even with the lightening adapter.

The survey only came to me 2 weeks ago and ive had the car since end of July

Volkswagen have changed it to 8-10 weeks recently. This is meant to be fairer as any delivery issues which might affect scores can be ironed out in that time.
Recently sold my GTD.

How many people have had their survey, I wonder. Do the questions relate only to dealer experience, or do you get the opportunity to let them know how sh!te you think VW UK and VW GmbH are?
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

The questions only relate to the vehicle

Section 1 - vehicle details
Section 2 - overall satisfaction with your vehicle
Section 3 - things gone wrong (with your vehicle)
Section 4 - what you like and don't like about your vehicle (scales of 1-10)
Section 5 - features and options fitted to your vehicle
Section 6 - likes about your vehicle (a small narrative section)
Section 7 - suggestions for improvement (again a small narrative section)
Section 8 - tyre puncture details if any
Section 9 - fuel consumption

There is absolutely no mention of your level of satisfaction or otherwise from ordering through to collecting apart from one question which asks you to rate your dealer. It doesn't ask you to expand on your answer if for example you have scored your dealer poorly.

That's not to say you couldn't attach a few A4 pages at the back voicing your opinion of your customer service experience if you felt the need to vent.

Hi All, I get my GTD (BW48) in early January   but as my dealer is over 200 miles away could someone please confirm what I should get with the car when it's delivered. I know the obvious like Manuals etc, but Media Cables, Key Fob covers etc,   anyone know please ?

Definitely check for the GTD key fob bits - both my keys were delivered with the standard black plastic base and you should have one for each key.  Queried this with the delivery driver and he got them sorted the same day.  If they are not fitted, get the garage to do it there and then, as the Torx screw required is really small and it's quite a fiddly job apparently.

As for media cables, my car came with the 30 pin iPhone cable (blue collar) & an iPhone 5 lightning connector cable.   FYI, my car is BW45, so would expect you would see something similar.

Also, if it is a private purchase, I would seriously consider into getting the dealer not to "prepare" the outside of the car for you.  The swirls on my paint work are terrible, noticed it from day one, although as it's a company car, it is annoying, but ultimately something I'm not going to fork out £300 for a proper detailing for someone else to benefit.

Robbo, Thanks for the info........much appreciated.  It's a company car so can't do anything about the prep.

Resurrecting an old thread I know, but currently waiting on my GTi to arrive next month so starting to investigate things like what to check on collection

With regards to the performance pack, the GTi calipers are obvious, but what about the diff, can I visually check the diff has been installed? Belt and braces I know, as if the calipers are there then all should be

Cheers
