Out of interest....looking at peoples thoughts here. If we are to get our cars in 5/6 weeks from the build date that means cars will be ready for late november, will anyone actually collect it so late in the year? Id be tempted to ask for them to hold on to it till Jan for it to be registered in 2014 instead of 2013. Surely this would make a difference when you come to sell it, or am i the only one thinking along these lines? Would be damn hard to put collection of another 4 weeks should it come to it

In Jan 2014 the car would still have a 63 plate?  If I was taking delivery in January I would be tempted to hold off till March for the new 14 reg plate.  I'm fine with a Nov delivery though

Definitely only worth delaying delivery for imminent new plate. There'll be maybe £250 between Dec 13 and Jan 14 registration come trade in time, but £750 - 1000 between Feb 14 (63) and March 14 (14) due to the impact of the new plate. My p/xed Scirocco slid £850 between Aug and Sept 13, but only approx £230 per month for the preceding 3 months.

Nov availability? Pick it up ASAP, you'll see no advantage in delaying pick up by a month or 2.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Just had a very positive email about the confirmation of my build week.  November delivery. I wonder if it will be mid-late or earlier.  My money is on later...

Just received a call from VW also, to expect a delivery first two weeks in November. If its not being built till week commencing the 20th October think this is a bit optimistic I'd have said

Spoke to my dealer and they said it was possible that I'd get a November delivery but were planning for early to mid December.

(Important for me as my current car tax and insurance expire December and that's when I wanted to collect the new car).

Just sold my Mk5 GTI, I'm hoping to get a run of good luck and be sitting in my Mk7 in 3 weeks?  I can live in hope!

Anyone else getting excited now?

Trying not to get too excited lest my co-workers banish me from the office ;)

But still, ordered winter wheels and tyres this week, so looks like the pentaglas will have to wait :D
