Rubber Mats Picture - How boring!
« on: 22 September 2013, 12:39 »
I picked up a set of rubber mats for free over the weekend to protect my carpet mats over the winter months. Not the most exciting picture but someone might find it of interest:

I never understand why people put the rubber ones over the carpet ones?? ???  My brother does the same, why not just clip them in instead of the carpets so they don't move around?

Thanks for the pic though, like you say i'm sure someone will find it useful. 8)

Gave up on rubber mats many years ago as personally think they spoil look of car and that carpet mats are so good these days that just a good hoover when dry will bring them back to pretty good shape.

Rubber mats in mine, properly clipped in, in lieu of the thin standard carpet mats. The underside of the mats is the GTI/GTD honeycomb grille pattern - why couldn't they make the topside like that too?

I also am not a fan of rubber mats. When it's pissing it down and you get in the car, the carpet mats serve to dry off the soles of my shoes as to avoid slipping on the pedals.  Can't do that with rubber mats. When they get dirty just wash/Hoover them.

Shame they dont seem to have any sort of raised edge on them. All that means is the dirt works its way to the edges then gets on the the carpet.

The ones in my volvo have quite a raised edge on them, has certainly saved the carpet below from a lot of dirt based on where I have to drive and work.

My scirocco ones had a raised lip around the perimeter. Was expecting the same from these when I bought them.
