Somebody who is good at composing detailed and descriptive letter need to compose one and then obtain as many names as possible.

If it went across all VAG forums you could have well over 1000 names in a month, that would start the ball rolling for a recall if they knew that none of these people would buy another VAG again.

Step up Mr Letter Writer....... (defo not me )

If you find VW messing you around regarding engine replacements, get on twitter and comment on every photo they post on Facebook. VW want to protect their image of reliability so you will find head office will step in to fix the problem t shut you up.

Make sure you also get an extension to your warranty to cover drivetrain (engine and gearbox). I believe VW give a 5 year drivetrain warranty in the US as standard, no idea why us poor Europeans shouldn't have it.

Think its law in the US, sure I read that somewhere.

Also could do what that guy did in the states when BA lost his luggage, put a Tweet on their Twitter page but paid to get it sponsored so it came up everywhere and was seen by loads of people.

Outcome:

BA found his luggage pronto and had it delivered within 24 hours, this even got on BBC news, read the story:

Quite a few manufacturers now give 5 year warranties so why not VW if their cars are so reliable!!
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.

I'm not sure this poll is going to work due to the low response. I was expecting a lot more to vote.

Not sure this is going to aid me in my case with VW.

Perhaps this then serves to suggest that the problem is not widespread? Internet hysteria?
Just found the perfect GTi...

Perhaps someone could contact the BBC about how the BMW owners went about getting a story on Watchdog regarding Timing chain/Component failures.
