So what approach did she take anyway, was it the soft womanly touch or was it the "listen here son, it better be good news or I will come down there and kick your balls in" kind of deal?

It was somewhere in between  Basically she said where's the car, its not good enough etc etc in a very forceful tone (but without the swearing!) - although if she hadn't got anywhere I think the swearing would have come (she's from Leyton - don't mess )
