For a while I have wanted to try a set of 18" wheels on the Golf.
As shown, a set of genuine VW Pretoria' in silver.
I am not sure, maybe with a little brake dust & road grime they will calm down a little? 😉

Looks good with the Tornado Red.

Thanks Adam, I am sure I will come round to like them....

They'd look great in a matt bronze...

Hhmmm.... Maybe? I don't really want to attract too much attention. This is my sensible car, after all!

They look great. I have done similar on mine (albeit OZ 18" HLT Leggeras)  but since I originally had 19" prets, I went with 235/40 tyres to get the same rolling diameter and fill the arches a smidge more. The ride is so much better, and 2kg a corner weight saving.

I did the same, went from 19" Santiago's (225/35) to 18" Protrack One's (235/40) and never looked back.

Shanefully, I have literally driven 5-6 miles since fitting the 18"s, initial impressions are comfortable in DCC "comfort" position, as you might expect.
The 2024 18" Michelin PS5 with 6.5-7mm seem noisier than the 19" Goodyear assy6 with similar tred depth, which surprised me?

I have a chance to use the car later in the week on better roads, so will have more idea.

The main reason to change was not to run the diamond cut Brescia through the winter months. They are now forensically cleaned, ceramic coated and stored in wheel bags in one of the spare bedrooms.

They look great . I had the silver ones.I ended up selling them when I sold my 1.4 tsi  golf . I think they felt light if I remember around 10kg. I really like the troc Pretoria’s tho , I had a chance to buy some for a decent price but don’t know if grey prets will look good with white silver. Anyways red car with silver wheels looks great and will look even better in the sun .
