Gave it a wash and quick wax.

Every time you post up a pic the car just seems to be shinier and shinier!

My wife managed to do this to her new car the other day 
The damage is about half a cm square.
Any ideas on the best approach to getting it repaired?
Would a really good polish and then a touch up kit not hide the worst of it?
I'd hate to spend hundreds on a repair and then have it happen again to the same panel, which would be just my luck.
Then buy some 20" wheels for the proper badass look which will immediately take your eyes away from the battle scar!
