3 dr golf owners question

Any chance if a picture of these?  I'm wondering if they are some sort of protection.  Some models of Audi A1 have clear plastic strip on the side of the bodywork for protection.

Are you not talking about the clear stone protector at the rear arch?

This was a little strip of clear plastic on the door sill, bottom corner under the door handle. Looked completely naff once it caught your eye and I couldn't see the point of it other than being another dirt/grit collector so off it came. To be honest I assumed the PDI guys forgot to remove it.

Yes, that's what I meant.  I'm not sure what's being described on the Golf so wasn't sure if its something like this.

Checked, I don't have this strip. They must have removed it during PDI.

It's clear-ish plastic but mine was going yellowy after a few weeks so off it came. Agreed, it looks like something that shouldn't be there and serves no purpose IMO.
