hi can anyone help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i replaced my front bush arms on my mk 4 1.8 t two weeks ago becos of movemeant on the rite side . all went well until i drove from the garage and going round a right hand corner and only a right hand one the noise from the left side and vibration is unreal .

so i took back to garage twice
took back to quickfit 3 times to recheck tracking
rang parts place got new set of arms
replaced again at my cost again

drove home today same problem

springs ok ,shock ok , no loose bolts ,garage have said thay cant find anything wrong with it but can hear the noise .
the noise is like the tyre is being wripped off the wheel which would sujest camber ?? thare is an adjuster on the arms but part cenre say thay are already set up for my car ,also two days later knocking on both sides uder my feet . car drives like bag of sh!t on corners , parts place said replace anti roll bars and top mounts but i never had a problem before i replace arms just a knocking on drivers side as rear bush was shot , wished id never touched the thing now

soo far nearly 200 pound and wished id left the old ones on ,has anyone else had this isue ??with pattern parts or no s off problems new arms cause ?

Sounds like there's something damaged or broke which you haven't found yet.

Following a MOT failure on my front rear bushes, i removed both arms and replaced with standard Vw bushes and had no problem since.

Are you lowered? My ARB rubbed on the driveshaft when I wound the coilies down, it only did it when turning right.

yep but when wishbones are taken off the suspension along with other components is letteraly 'hanging' there.

therefore bushes could have slightly moved etc. so could be a problem with that.

they could have also knoked and bend something...

my mate got wishbones from ebay, the weld on one of the wish bones was too big (where it connects in the chassis) so he had to take a grinder to that weld. could be something simelar. id get under the car and try have a look.

Is it a twanging sound?

Have you removed the springs to check??

When my spring snapped it did so right at the very top and you couldnt see it until it was removed

cheers for the help guys !!!! thats what i thought the fact it was hanging thare i wreckon somethings got bent or the new parts have put extra work on the other parts like anti roll bar s , top mount bearings as i heard them knocking a bit tonite on a drive .  the noise is hard to describe i think its a combination of a few things wrong to start thares a sudden dull knocking from both side if your on a slow corner with bumps and also the main problem which concearns me the most is if your going round a rounder bout so pressure is on the rite   post i can feel the tyre start to grip /work ect then all of a sudden a dull drone and tyre slide noice comes up through the car , with a vibration and car looses all grip and goes out of balance . dont get me wrong i dont suddenly loose controll lol , but none off these noises wer thare before i changed the bush arms !!!!!!!!! rarrrrrrrrrrr , twice iv had them changed with pattern parts and 3 times tracking done , any idears guys ?

ps just rememberd last week i was driving and the tracking suddenly went out by two inches on the wheel , but had the arms changed again the next day anyhow

thought id give an update on the ongoing sittu with the susspention , after yet another set of wishbone arms /pattern parts and a week later the knocking and banging coming back yest i decided to bite the bullet and fit gen vw arms , ball joints and bushes , £240 plus 70 to fit at a vw spec near me , , wow what a better ride , more solid over bumps , no nocking ect , but still this f**king noise on rounderbouts putting left peg under presure athough i noticed today no noise when off the gas , as soon as u acelarate through corner noise apears !!!!!!!!!!!!after a vw doing a coil recall today on my car the 30 point safety inspection came back as perfect car but two completly worn anti roll bar bushes , could this be the problem , never had noise before started changing arms !!!!! could i of disturbed a prob ??????anyone no would this cause a camber /vibration on left peg ,something moves on the corner putting out the tyre

lesson learnt use gen parts in first place but stil got this f**king horrible noise on right hand turn

Worn arb bushes generally cause a little vibration through the steering wheel and a slight knocking noise. Obviously this is enhanced when cornering as the arb is under more load.
