The procedure is pretty simple really.  You go to the showroom, they relieve you of a load of cash (and/or you sign your life away!) and you drive away in a spanking new motor!

Hoping to get mine picked up around then as well, super excited sums it up quite well :)

Many thanks! I'm getting really excited now!

Why did you decide to cancel out of interest?

J

1) Fed up of the wait.
2) Don't believe VW estimates anymore so wait might still get longer.
3) Feel like VW treating its customers like sh!t, and I don't like to do business with them on principal.
4) GTI is kinda overpriced (but partly my fault as I added a few pricy options!)
5) I drove an BMW M135i and thought, wait a minute.  This is a better car.  And its cheaper.  And (allegedly) BMW won't mess you around like VW.

Which makes it the right decision for me to cancel, but doesn't necessarily mean it is right for anyone else as the above are mostly personal things.

I can't believe my luck. But like i said, i had been looking for some time now so it still feels like i have been waiting for ages!

Super excited for the pick up date

I've never bought a new car before, whats the procedure?

J

Make sure you have avoid look round the car for any dents , damage , scratches , check wheels and tyres are ok  , take your time after your happy with the car then start the  paperwork .
Last Audi I bought wanted two new tyres because they damaged the sidewalls getting it off the transporter . There Inspectors never saw it , so glad I did , it's harder to prove things  after you have had the vehicle a
few days

You can get a checklist of things to check for.  I posted one taken from a PDI of an S5 a few months back.  Shouldn't be hard to find that post.

Don’t forget to kick the tyres! Seriously though – I have had a pressed crease oon the wheel arch of a new Polo that was painted perfectly. Bodyshop completion QC didn’t see it before it went to the paint shop, final factory QCchecks didn’t pick it up, and dealership PDI didn’t pick it up. Take your time to go around it with a fine-toothed comb.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Go to www.babybmw.net ... from what I remember their view of BMW Dealers and BMW Customer Services...

To be fair this is a misquote.  The word preceding my statement is "Allegedly".  In any case because several of us have noted that the experience with VW is the worst ever with any car company the statement likely stands even as the misquote. At least it does if we take "like" to mean "as bad as"!
