VAG-Com, could it help solve my problem?

I think my throttle body needs re-calibrating as since I have cleaned it, well it is now jerky at low speeds. I did the wrong thing when I cleaned it and pushed the butterfly thing inside open, but the thing is mine TB is controlled by wires not a cable so from what I have read on the net it needs re-calibrating?
Some on the net have said about VAG-Com fixing it, would this work as I don't have VAG-Com but thought I would buy this one off Ebay......Any ideas and is this VAG-Com a good one?

if your TB is electronic, it will self adjust after about a week of driving
