I suspect everyone here who isn't yet confirmed will be ringing VW CS today. Would be good to know if any GTIers are facing these delays, or if they're saying GTI and GTD face delays because they just don't know/refuse to tell you the truth.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

What are the lead times on the S3? :-) First delivers November, wonder if they will be affected by the same production issues.

I dropped into the dealership today to confirm the initial payment details and discuss a delivery date.

The fleet manager left the business two weeks ago btw and was told 'all GTD's' are advised as wk51.

I said fine, I'd like to cancel immediately.

After a couple of minutes of explanation from my side they double checked and because my car will be owned by VWFinance during the lease period the timing was different. They expect mid September delivery but we agreed on the last week of September. The track my order tells that my car should be built this week, they say next.

Just thought I'd share.

This is all just utterly ridiculous!!

When you order a car, the delivery of that vehicle is one of the factors which will sway me if I'm split between to makes.

This behaviour by VW is just a shear scam, I'm sure of it. How can the marketing dept' of a company of VW's magtidude (they are now the largest are they not?) get is so wrong?

The MK6 suffered the same issues and I'm very dissapointed in VW that they have allowed this too happen again with the MK7.

If it were me......I'd seriously look at a BMW M135i (which as we know can be had with a juicy discount) or a basic Audi S3.

Come on VW - own up and stop pi55ing your customers off.

Just cancelled my order and got my deposit refunded.

The sales guy has told me it affects "All GTD's".

They would only do the one they had in the showroom for £391 per month. Which with my P/X and £10k deposit is more than I want to spend. My cancelled one was £325.

Back to the drawing board.

Anybody know of any dealers with one in their showroom?

What week were you estimated at prior to today?

Not sure how the priority is given to VW financed cars - how do they know you're not taking up finance until you pick up the car and pay with BACS or debit card? I've had a finance quote, but i'm not going to follow it through.

I would be concerned my GTD is delayed (as it should be built this week, but seemingly hasn't beenso far) because of this BW51 issue if it wasn't for a few BW33 GTIs that also haven't been built.

Alright Monkey, wk33, this week. Same as you I think.
I'll be leasing the car directly from VW Group Finance, they'll own the car. If I had used another lease solution from a third party I believe it would be treated slightly differently, perhaps it would be considered as 'retail'.

Sat in a showroom car today, and after the amount of time I've already waited, I'm ain't pulling out now.
