Assume too far back to be this? Highlighted on Honest John Motoring site.

Latest Update Volkswagen Golf 2013: Seems to be a problem of "rattling" rear dampers on more powerful Golf VIIs fitted with multilink rear Sports suspension, including the GTI. The fault is with the dampers themselves because it disappears if they are removed.

I had a noisy rear suspension on my mk6 GTD, and turned out to be the rear dampers. Replaced by the dealer under warranty, and problem solved.

It's definitely not the rear dampers. I went out to do some further investigation last night and the noise that I'm hearing appears to be coming from the driver window and the rubbet seal I think. It's the strangest thing, when your siting directly behind the driver you can't hear anything so it's just the driver that's affected
