Why should it be the water companies job to clean up after the energy companies? Do you think it'll make an ounce of difference to the cost of fuels?

Stop wasting time, effort and £money on fracking.  It's not good for the planet, so spend the money on taking out these greedy wayne kerrs in the 'oil rich zone' nice and easy tbh.

I don't know if the government stops selling our own fuels then having to buy it back when its more expensive or we end up paying more then who knows? Maybe we are paying for future contracts just to secure it hence the x5 prices mmm methinks on this one for abit!

I was wondering if you could clarify a couple of points as i am mot aware of the work done by SAS. Has SAS been successful in persuading the water companies to fix the problems with sewage being dumped in the ocean? Do water companies have a legal obligation to prevent that sort of thing happening?

Its gonna happen, and has been happening all over the world for a few years now. The Yanks are almost self sustainable thanks to this. Granted they have mass expanses of uninhabited land to do this, but we don't so we need to do it right. We can't be left behind over this, or we'll suffer the consequences in years to come. All these people protesting are just whining about the damage to their local landscape. They'll also be the first to whine about increased gas costs when the other country who went ahead with fracking, that we are forced to buy from put up their prices! As long as its done sympathetically which government can enforce, everyone should accept it as the best alternative.

Has anyone looked into the environmental impact fracking has had? What makes anyone feel that the disasters is effect experienced in other countries won't happen here? At the end of the day the companies fracking will look at the cost of fines and how much profit they'll generate and the ratio will no doubt be that they'll cut corners, ruin he environment pay the fines and still generate massive profits.

And you know Cameron won't do anything about it because the "environmentalists" don't vote Tory anyway. And Cameron has come out and said that fracking is a good thug so why penalise his chums running these firms?

Its not just governmental agencies that'll have their bollox should any problems occur though. I cant honestly see there being any conspiracy between Government and the suppliers in this Bob. Its a fact of life that we need to adapt with the times. This is just the next process in mankind acquiring fuel by necessary means.
