I am wondering if it is a south african car as they were building from kits for a while after the mk4 was launched.

It's very strange, I think VW just built this up from random parts. Because it's got no front fog light, it's got red stitched steering wheel, it's got rare recaro interior, lower glovebox and the abs and airbag light is different if you look carefully.

Also the interior does match with the door cards if you look carefully.

the seat catches are on both sides of both seats !.The airbag/abs light is the later one with the tow bar warning light or "EDL" (?) light at the bottom.Eurocarparts do zero for that reg lol

Well something is not adding up, if it was registered / built in October 1995 it should be on a N plate, for it to be on an X plate someone had paperwork to prove it was new or manufactured in 2000.

So even if it was imported in 2000 but built in 1995 then it should be on an N plate.

I still think it is a South African car as they were built from kits of parts hence they do tend to have strange specs plus they were building them up to 2001 I believe.

I got this info from the DVLA.

The door cards do match the seats...I can quite clearly see the red pattern on both front and back doorcards in the pics.

You can pick up interiors like that on EBay in Germany, I looked at those before I finally found a minter of a black leather colour concept interior that was local to me. I really like these seats...I'm pretty sure they are recaro but cloth (they have nice deep bolsters)

As for the rest of the car I haven't got the foggiest.

If it were mine I would definitely put it thorugh the MOT if it was a 'certain pass' as he/she claims and it would be far more attractive/valuable as a drive away with 12 months MOT attached to it but its up to them I guess....
