Welcome Jeff!
I've not seen a lot of tuning options for the GTI yet either.
Of the big names only Abt seem to have a piggy back ECU at great cost so far pushing out an alleged 300PS. The encrypted ECUs will lead to tuners going more this way I think.
Milltek have a GTI to mess about with so no doubt that will be used to develop exhausts first and possibly software by a partner company at the same time (guessing here on the latter).
I emailed REVO a while ago but didn't hear back, if I ever get a build date I'll ring them directly but want to see how the car drives as standard first as I may not bother to remap at all and just concentrate on getting the best out of the standard PP set up.
But largely I would imagine the tuning companies are in the same boat as the rest of us and just either waiting for their own development car or one of their 'pet' customers to get theirs delivered so they can get to work on it.
The S3/R unit should be similar to the GTI with the fancy valve technology but I've seen scant technical info on it and this whole generation of engine seems to be very quiet on the technical front on the forums so far as where in previous incarnations there has been a massive buzz as people get to work on them or get information from technical websites. So we will have to assume like the 1.8t and then the 2.0TFSI that the uber models will have bigger turbos and intercoolers with uprated internals.
The delivery of these cars throughout the VAG range seems so slow at the moment that everything seems to be dragging.
Early days yet.
