im sorry if I offended you in anyway but that aint why im here. I am simply stating that in the years to come the mk2 golfs that are factory standard are going to go for big money compared to ones that are thrashed to bits.

No offence taken & I didn't take it as such.....

Yes genuine low mileage & un-touched models will always command a very much higher premium, I don't disagree with you.

But these will be much harder to find over the coming years.

If you don't own (or can't afford) one like that the best way to match these cars is to stick with OEM parts and take off all the 80's add on's, and go back to stock! As in Stock OEM.... Just as I  have done...

Mine is high mileage with 175k racked up. I'm not looking to make some money back but just enjoy it while its around and not kill a classic. I think new arches are in order, disappointed in the after market bumper fitted by a garage. Might modify the bumper irons as it doesn't sit in enough.

I have ordered a remote locking kit, would maybe electric sunroof and mirrors be a good investment? It may not be making me any money or keeping the car original but it's more convenient and luxurious. I almost bought mk2 modified heated leather VR6 seats recently.
