GTI Spec Questions and Comments

Thanks for the feedback/comments around the DSG, appreciated. Going to make sure I get in a car with a DSG box tomorrow before making my final decision.

On review I'm also most likely going for Carbon Grey instead now and dropping the 19" wheels and the leather.

Random question, but is there red stitching on the gear gator on the DSG? There is in the manual which is a nice touch.

Just got back from the dealer and placing my order.

Quite a few changes from my original spec based on feedback from you all and from reading other threads.

In the end I went for:-

Drove an EOS Diesel DSG and really liked the gearbox, hence why opting for it in the GTi. As I'll be doing a mixture of long (business) and short (personal) trips it made sense for the comfort/ease.

I kept the park assist and high beam simple because I like toys! Doubt they'll get used much at all but nice to have.

After reading feedback throughout the forum I kept the Tartan seats, on review they are really good seats. I also love how the red is carried through the cabin.

Managed to secure a discount of around 8.3% - Around £2800 off list (including options). Fairly pleased with that!! Dealer even said that they've had no-one who's negotiated that much of the new GTi.

Now the long wait, deal estimated October but likely nearer Christmas based on other feedback.

Hi,
First post.
I recently spotted a Night blue 5door Gti in Middlesbrough Lookers with cloth seats in front and half leather in back with alcantera between cloth and leather. Anyone got any ideas why this would be?
The look of the rear looked classier than the standard front seats (although better quality than mk6 tartan)
 I have owned a mk5 gti with cloth and mk6 gti with leather
