Tis strange and agree with the others...cant see it being flare as such tho? that would not make the discolourisation such a large area surely...especially not from just a simple headlight during day time...

If your adapter has a piece of glass in it it'll sometimes cause a bright spot, especially on the cheap ones.

I wonder if it's a deterioration in the coating on the front element, perhaps caused by lots of cleaning.
I would try the lens on a plainer subject so that you can really see if there is a difference in the centre.
