still love my car, would you change anything?
« on: 14 June 2013, 13:34 »
yep, still absolutley loving my car. sometimes wish i went for a manual, then i just slip it into dsg mode, and change gear with the stick rather than paddles (yeh not the same i know, but close enough)

but this brings me to my question. if you could change anything about the mk5 (not styling wise because that is always an option, although i still think the gti should have coloured bumpers like the ed30...like i said always an option)

my things would be
glovebox, dont make it so deceptivly small. you open it and it looks like it could handle a few things...not the case!

the bars down the side of the windscreen. i know there needed. but seriously they seem to be right in the wrong place. i know there are cars with worse ones. and a lot of people might not get this problem because of seat position.

the unlocking. might just be my car but if i want to unlock any other doors on the car i have to press the button like 3/4 times. could have something to do with the way i lock the car, i do tend 2 press the lock button multiple times cuz im paranoid like that.

apart from those little bits. i love anything else about my car

oh yeh and i do think the car would look better if the roof was a little lower, but then i think the cabin would feel to tight.

what would u change?

I would change the cheap hard plastic in the middle of the dash, and the flimsy flap next to the steering wheel. Other than that, nothing.

Find a VCDS cable and you can adjust the doors so that all unlock with one push on the fob.

The Mk5 is a good looking car, it's just that styles have changed which make it look dated.
Just found the perfect GTi...

No worries, you'll notice that the led in the door doesn't flash indicating the deadlock is off. ;)

does that mean inside the car that if you press the lock doors it will deadlock them too? Gonna try that on the way home from work I think.  Manuals are crap for this kind of thing.  Oh and presume you do me a true deadlock so that if you smash the windows you cant just open the doors.

Yeah i mean a full deadlock, you can't open the doors full stop! Idon't think locking the doors from the inside deadlocks them as that would be too dangerous in the event of an accident.

To much plastic trim outside, bumpers , skirts splitter. Not really a moan but sometime don't have the time to wash, wax and do the plastic. After havering black gti's for the last 15 yrs tommorow I'm getting a white one.
