No, you're quite wrong and spouting shyte. The RA and SB motors had a lot of differences from the standard 1.6TD motor, including a watercooled turbo, larger injectors, bigger valves, more aggressive boost actuation and some other stuff I've forgotten. Oh and yes they had an intercooler. 80BHP was a pretty banging output from a 1.6TD back in the 80s (look no apostrophe needed there either).
