I'm all set for tomorrow - not giving them any excuse not to make GTD delivery happen. The money is in the bank, got both keys, my V5 form, the service book and manual. Had a clear out of the car, there is nothing in the car that doesn't belong to the car, and I found about £4.50 in change, in and around the front seat rails.

Anything else i've forgotten that I need for the switch?
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Only ever used USB stick and lead, they're out. Big thing to remember - sunglasses in the ceiling console cubby, they're out. Checked that locking wheel nut key is in there (from when Costco changed the tyres).

George: Any idea what the "goodwill gesture" might be? Any of the Durham branch customers GTIs and GTDs coming through thick and fast now? Deliveries on here definitely seem to be snowballing - shouldn't be long until everyone who ordered March/April gets theirs.

No idea what you will get but let me know when you pick up. Still very few coming through, just delivered white GTD today which was our showroom model and had to modify mudflaps to fit as customer was promised them. Just had black 5 door GTI delivered today with 19's and PP but I think it's a demo

You seem to get more demos in than customers cars right now. Are they being kept as demos or available to those who don't like waiting? There might be a few people here interested in them. I was given first option on the 3 GTDs you got in initially, but I was too tight to pay for options I didn't specify!

If only you knew that you had that £4.50 of loose change tucked away in the old car
