Wow, the VW incompetence continues.  Hit 'em where it hurts MH, when you get the VW call after taking delivery asking you to do the survey on which their bonus is based, make sure you be honest and therefore give them a pants review.  That's what I would do, sorry, I'm happy to give credit where its deserved but they are taking the p1ss and basically being lazy a f7ck.

Shocking (but not surprising).

That is a given on the survey – going to slate them on “delivery” as they had the power to shave 5 days off a very long order to delivery and couldn’t be arsed.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I really am shocked by the p!ss poor service.  I take into account there is very little the dealers can do about delays etc (that's all Germany and VW UK) but the delivery process is where they can earn their keep as it were, and redeem VW in the eyes of the customer - but they clearly don't give a sh!te about that either.  Pathetic service, yet again.

Sorry to hear that MH, really surprised the dealer aren't bothered about keeping their side of the priority movement for you. At least its almost over now though I guess, should hope they can get it for you early Wednesday then so you don't have to wait even longer!

Hope it’s not a ruse to buy some time to fix some transit damage – that really would be the icing on the cake. Doubtful, I’m sure it’s just the dealer not giving a sh!t.

Given that VUUK exec "promised" this would happen can you not contact them to give the dealer a kick up the arse?  You could either contact them and just tell them that they had assured you of a priority pick up and its not happening, or you could take the 'innocent' approach and have a 'friendly' contact where you ask them to check with the dealer that exactly when the priority pick up will be happening... such that when they do check and the dealer says they won't do it they will be the ones on the phone to the dealer and left in the situation of either putting pressure on the dealer or calling you to say they are going back on their word.  I'd go for this option personally.  Its appalling how they can dish out so many promises only for things to not materialise, don't let them get away with this!

Oh yeah, and give them the bottom possible score on the survey anyway.  I wish I had got a survey but apparently if you cancel they don't give a damn what you think (presumably because they know you won't be giving out good scores... but if the survey was meaningful then bad scores should be collected as well!).

I was actually called by the dealer head office a couple of days after I cancelled and was asked "Was I happy with the hand over of my car?"
So my answer was "Err... no not really."
"Oh dear, what was the problem."
"Well... I cancelled the order."
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that, goodbye then."
WTF?  Seriously you don't give a damn why I cancelled?  Don't want to improve your service then?  Only interested in answers that make you look good?

Well... just goes to show.  Good customer service will only get better, while poor service doesn't even understand why its poor and will only get worse.

But back on topic, don't take no for an answer MH!  They promised you so they damn well better do it!

I never got a survey after I took delivery of my Mark 6.  After they lost the original order and had to re-order without telling me, I was looking forward to giving them poor marks for everything.

A VW UK rep from Simon Thomas' office rang just after lunch to tell me the car was in the UK and cleared customs, waiting on VW UK delivery to the dealership "that will be no longer than a week". I said I knew all that, and that the arrangement had been for the dealership collect it from the docks to speed things up as part of the "priority delivery", but they'd decided themselves not to bother so as to prolong delivery 5 extra.

She didn't seem bothered in the slightest at that news.

By the dealer telling me not to arrange the free insurance until Wednesday, they're not even giving a chance for early pick-up, say if the transporter turned up at the dealership Monday with my car. Going to arrange insurance for Monday - just in case, I will not need the whole 7 days (assuming I can pick up Weds lunchtime as I can't do Weds evening).

It's unbelievable that after all the delay, they have the ability to partially redeem themselves and totally ruin the opportunity.

My car arrived at the dealership today so I told them I would be arriving Monday to collect. Blah, blah, i don't care, sort it. Told the registration and tax, finance clearance means Thursday best, I settled on Friday, have a reg number and a promise of a full fuel tank of diesel, roll on Friday.
