You would be a complete tit if you ever thought a 1.8 NA engine from the 80's would beat a new 2.0 turbo engine.

These type of videos annoy me.

They are only trying to make the new car look good! Surely using a standard mk4 20vt  would be a fair test as the both go 150bhp a turbo but the diesel hass got extra 200cc

Well done on grasping the concept of what I was saying and answering in such a well thought out manner. Clearly I thought this was a 3D render of what might happen....

If it wanted to be a true comparison test then it needs a track test not a gun it down a 1/4mile test as obviously a turbo will win all day long. Throw corners into it and I reckon it would be a much closer fought battle, the diesel would still have probably won but it's by no means comparitive. At all.
