Connecting an exhaust
« on: 10 June 2013, 13:55 »
After a manifold change I noticed my centre pipe and manifold have the same external diameter. I ordered a joiner but it never showed up. The centre pipe (straight pipe ) is too thick to either expand or squeeze to fit the manifold. I could buy pipe with internal diameter to join the two pipes but it only comes in 2 meter lengths and isn't cheap. Has anyone got any ideas?

Do you mean the sleeve that joins them? I picked up one if those from vw for less than a tenner. There s also loads of reducers in eBay for the same price

My ebay one never showed up. Didn't know vw sold them thanks. So many "exhaust centres" now are just poorly trained fitters and didn't have the skills or tools to stretch pipe.
