Parking sensor problem!
« on: 28 May 2013, 09:59 »
I had a minor front end hit a few weeks back and since then the parking sensors wouldnt work, all I hear when they are activated is a long beep for around 5 secs and thats it. So got a VCDS hooked up to it and there was an error fault with both the front middle parking sensors. Tried removing the faults and 1 parking sensor fault got removed but the other didnt. Anyway when getting the front end fixed I replaced the 1 parking sensor that still had the fault on it hoping that this would solve the problem, but it didnt. Im still getting the same problem, so just wondering is there any programming that will have to be done again or if I replace all the parking sensors it should work automatically straight after that?

i would remove the sensors one at a time and check/clean the sensors  connections etc, most of the vag group ive worked on have these same types of faults with them  :undecided:

either replace the sensor as they are really sensitive to damage, or remove the fuse...lets be honest who needs them....

Thanks for your help guys its much appreciated. Im trying to get hold of the person who did the vcds for me, but he isnt answeing his phone- i was thinking of getting the file from him when he carried the vcds out.

Otherwise I would have to find someone with vcds close to me, which seems impossible right now.

And I agree parking sensors are not necessary but make life a hell of a lot easier and that beeping noise is getting annoying now
