I've only ever seen the standard headrests in photos I've seen.  Must admit, losing those is a bit of a step backwards, but a minor thing really.

Nah, they wouldn't fit as the seat back itself is also cut out / sculpted to suit their shape when they are fully pushed down. I also agree they should have kept them.

They definately have taken a step back for sure... those mk6 ones look far better than the mk7 ones. Fingers crossed the photos are wrong and they come with similar to mk6... or might just have to modify them to fit the mk6 ones into

Anyone know how I can get this done for £1700???  If so I'll cancel the leather option and take cloth, then pay someone the £1700 to do this!

Somehow I can't see this happening though.  And I really wanted the heated seats.

I'm not convinced that leather on the side bolsters against the tartan cloth would look that good. Alcantara would be my preferred option but you never know, you might like the full cloth when you see it

Completely agree, even without seeing it I think leather with the tartan wouldn't look good.  If I could have chosen it, I'd have gone for half Alcantara, but I've got cloth in my current Mk5 and it looks perfectly OK, wearing very well.

I stand corrected. Those seats do look amazing. Real shame it's not even an option

The leather does provide a nice contrast, but still not keen on leather car seats, half or otherwise.
