After some deliberation I've decided to park the spacers plan for the moment. The cheaper spacers on the market appear to have some risk attached and I'm not willing to fork out £100 odd for eibach or h&r ones. Cheers for everyone's advice/input and I hope others may have found this post helpful.

Hey Guys,

Been tracking this tread regarding the Spacers, the link on ebay -
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281582120892?rmvSB=true#ht_800wt_882
Would be a good enough buy?
Also I will need 40mm Locking nuts?

Please advise the best way forward

Cheers
Doug

You will indeed need 40mm locking nuts. I was recommended these ones:

I'm thinking of getting some spacers myself but seem to be going round in circles

Do the H&R spacers bolt to the hub and then the wheel bolts to the spacer as above?

I thought it bolted straight through hence the need for longer bolts.

Eurocarparts seem to do them cheaper than dpmperformance but the description is poor and I don't know what is included with them.

Or is that just for certain sizes does anyone know?

I think it's just the pcd converters that bolt to the wheels or perhaps savers of a certain depth? The 10mm ones I had used longer bolts and went through the wheel, spacer and into the hub.

generally 20mm spacers and above are bolted to the hub, anything thinner will be the bolt-through type requiring longer wheel bolts.

Thanks.

After further investigating I've found: https://www.performancealloys.com/types-of-wheel-spacers.aspx

DR series 6 - 40mm require longer wheel bolts and bolt right through like a normal wheel.

DRA series 6 -60mm bolt to the hub with special bolts provided then use your originals to bolt to the spacer.

So now my other obvious question  if just going up to 15mm is one of them better than the other?

P3, the bolt to hub type spacers are technically more secure and are easier to mount your wheel onto, but are heavier (unsprung weight) and you need to make sure both sets of bolts are done up 100% evenly to eliminate any chances of wheel wobble caused by the slightest amount of flex.

The differences in price you'll see with bolt through spacers between H&R retailers like DPM and Amazon sellers are that DPM sell with bolts and some other online retailers will sell minus bolts. Make 100% sure of what's included before paying and make sure you order radius bolts if using OEM wheels.

Don't go wider than 20mm on the back or 15 on the front.
I'd say 10 front and 15 back will sit pretty perfectly.
