Whens the GTI landing in the show rooms?

I think it's just a vanilla GTI but the salesman was really surprised at how early it was coming in. He said it would be about a month before we could test drive it.

What's the point in a demo if it's not for test drives?

Yeah pics is a must! A month? That's b0llocks, my dealer told me as soon as they get it it's going on test drives - you've ordered one, they've got a demo therefore you have the right to drive it. They're just saying that as they want to keep it for themselves; exert your right as a paying customer!

VW will insist that the cars cannot be used for customer test drives till the official launch day.......however that doesn't stop us "running them in"

When is the official launch date Lee? And would that exclude a customer sitting on the passenger seat while you are running them in?

Do you know if dealers will be putting anything on with regards to official launch? Will for example existing owners or potential buyers be invited a long for a special preview?

I suppose it depends on individual dealerships. Not heard anything from mine yet with regards to an official launch...
