Get it remapped somewhere else?

I've not felt much lag in Tobys old K04 Golf...

may want to be careful, bent rods are more prone on standard engines if sticking a bigger turbo on, and remap wise i would say rtech even tho they are Revo, they seem to spend more time on your car than other Revo mappers

That's because rtech do complete custom maps not just generic ones which means they get your car running perfect just don't expect sh!t loads more power from as they map it so it's actual useable not just wildly spinning up everywhere trust rtech are the place to go good power that you can use go there and don't expect any less than 300 if your using the right set up on your k04
vw golf mk4 ARZ 1.8T pipercross panel filter, xenon headlights, JOMS coilovers, forge 007p with green spring, audi tt anti roll bar, 3inch ebay trubo back exhaust, COOKIES MONSTER STICKER(adds bhp I swear)

what FMIC and tubing are you using?
K04s from what I know take a while to spool anyway (unless its a hybrid) so at 2,800 is probably where it starts picking up
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)
