I wasn't born in when she ruled, so my opinion won't stand up to well, but to my knowledge people hate Thatcher and Tories because of 3 reasons: Their parents vote for labour, they were ex miners or their family were or because they don't vote.

Any government that came into power would of had to close mines back then. Just the same as any that came to power in the last general election would of had to make these cuts.

A gvt will never please everyone, only do, well should do, what is best for the majority.

Nice tax cut for those earning 150k and above for example.
