Some very knowledgeable bods on here, my only regret is not coming here first like you have before buying my car......I want oem Xenons but they are so expensive to retrofit

Most other upgrades are relatively acceptable money wise

Just one point I'd like to make, but it's not too relevant here as both cars are resonably low mileage, but whilst a diesel engine will stand a higher mileage, the rest of the car will have done the same amount of work too.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

They had the fairy light DRL's which I don't like.

Dubber - good chance it's motorway mileage if the cars new which is very easy on a cars components, not a great cause for concern.

That's why I said it wasn't all that relevant here.

On ukpassats, people say how they have bought a car that's done 150k+, but all's fine as it's a diesel, so has got another 150k left in it. Next thing is they are having to replace suspension arms, bushes, dampers etc.

Good comment - I am changing my job to ??? (don't know yet on mileage involved) and from an R32, this is the reason I am going more economical. So as for my annual mileage, tricky to say, but thanks anyway.

Why not do what I've done, go for a low mileage Gti and moan about fuel consumption. To answer your question, the newer model would come with VW warranty which would be the decider for me.

Mileage doesn't really matter in modern cars. As long as its been regularly serviced. I'd look at both and just choose whichever is in best overall condition guess. I'd prob go for the newer one. Longer warranty etc
