How fresh are your pads? No point getting it to clear couple of mm if you pads are old! Fit new ones!

Then I would take some messurements to see what spacer you need. And you can loose few mm with a grinder.

Think 15mm spacer and some negative will be close!

So 10mm and grinder might be better but as I said you need new pads to take measurements. I need 14mm to clear my wheels.

a lot of people have issues with 15's when fitting new pads on 288's as it is really tight (I was going to borrow a set of 15's but they caught and as they were only a temp fix, I decided not to bother)...
many just grind the corner of the calliper (a bit)

I will try and get some measures of o.e pads and after markets to see if that's what the issue is (maybe the after market being a couple of mm thicker?)

I've got mk3 longbeaches on mine and I renewed my front brake pads (aftermarket) and they work fine. Not had a problem at all. And it's the same size wheel as op bbs.

But a totally different design!

The long beach are flat spoke designed to give clearance. Them BBS wheels are total opposite! You need strength in wheels and having thin spokes means they need to be thick! Hence clearance issue.

Just put a bigger spacer on, i dont see the problem. ET43 with a 10mm spacer bringing it out to 33 you wont have any rubbing issues! my winters are 6.5 with 205/55 balloons on et38 and theres about 4mm caliper clearance and could easily space 10mm.
And excuse my ignorance but changing the pads wont move the caliper?? its bolted in place the piston is the only thing that sinks further into the caliper. You can shave a few MM of the caliper aswell as mentioned, id just space the wheels. Will look better for it aswell!

I will excuse your ignorance but not your stupidity

Your talking about a twin pot or four pot caliper. Single pots that are stanard on the mk3 is a sliding caliper and yes they do move in when the pads are low!

used the 2 5mm spacers on one side and its now clearing with enough room for my liking, so ordered some hubcentric 10mm spacers and some longer bolts.

if it catches when it comes to new pads ill have to get the grinder on it.

now ive got 2 5mm spacers, im going to put them on the back but they are only halfrauds ones. is it best to just not use them as they not hubcentric and i will need longer bolts for them too???
