1.3 back boxes set ups Help.

Bare with me a mo while i try to explain what i want to do! basically i want to delete my Mid silencer and the golf mk2 1.3 changed there back box set up from 1985 so mines a 1990 and has a big suitcase silencer before the back box, where the 1985 has a little silencer in the middle of the car... with me so far? Can i delete my huge suitcase silencer by simply putting the back box on  with a longer pipe from the 1985 model? to my 1990 model? would it be a straight fit etc???
