managed to have a look at the wheel this weekend missus said didn't make the sound through week. i checked wheel anyway no play in wheel. if it was a wheel bearing surely it would be constant and a whirring sound. thanks for help so far

Mine wasn't always heard. I thought it was cheap discs and pads but was still there every now and then until I changed the bearing.

Ive got the exactly same problem
i Put it down to the wheel bearing too, going to have a butchers tomorrow as it gets pretty annoying
