had wet carpets and the inside of the windscreen was freezing so I took the front seat out to have a look.. a few of the drain plugs in the floor had split and the underlay was soaked. I have no idea what the plugs are for! I was gonna weld up the holes but it seemed a bit excessive and a bit of a ball ache so I made some 50mm circles from 2mm steel and siliconed them in. hopefully this should stop the wet. gonna do passenger side, paint and underseal too later on

These can be a problem area on the mk3 especially and most people do weld them up or they eventually fall out due to rust  :laugh: I had mine welded up with a plate by my mate when I booked it in at his garage for the same reason  :smiley: Your floor does look to be solid which is a good thing  :wink:

yeah no signs of rust for me which is good! did you weld up the hole in the bottom left of the top pic on your mk3? it has No bung in it but I wasn't sure if I needed to do that one too

ha yeah when you can't see it tho! one thing I now know about silicone is it stays on no matter what!

new treat for her today.. 1200 watts. can't wait to wire it in. with the comps in the doors and the tweeters in the dash it should sound pretty frickin good now. unsure whether or not to upgrade the rear speakers and tweeters yet..

60 mile cruise and she's running healthy, pleased with that. the most I ever got out of my 8v was 47!
