How many Ed35's?
« on: 26 January 2013, 18:07 »
Hi all,

Just done a little search around but can't find an answer.
Wanted to know how many have been made, anyone have any idea? People say its "limited edition" but how limited are they?

Regards,

Devereaux.

I'm sure than answers been posted here before but.I cannot remember it.

Imo it doea not matter how many were made but how many survive and have not been messed about with.
If its modded imo its just another moddifed golf nothing more.

A similar question to this is often asked about the runout mk1 campaign model.
1000 UK dealer supplied cars were made but not all survive and a lot of the ones that have are moddified.
So in reality few really exist compared to the official records.

Thanks Snoopy. Just been asked before is all and was quite curious myself.

Would you recommend keeping everything standard then?

Would be nice if VW did a plaque for each one like the ed30? Just makes it that little bit more special imo.
Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂

Which makes it a lot more special than the Ed30, I am biased though.......  And mine is stage 2 DSG with NQSBBK

My understanding(and i stand to be corrected) is the Ed30 was a limited edition (2300!!!!) so it gets a plaque, whereas the ED35 is a special edition so it doesnt  ( I think thats the right way round)

Correct, ED35 is not a limited edition, but as has been said, there will be a lot less of them than ED30s.

I would only do reversible mods. I don't think being a standard car matters too much in the early years, but from say 10 years on, standard cars are more sought after.

My Mk2 was totally original when I bought it. I have only upgraded to things that were factory options (split rear seat with headrests, electric windows, front door speakers etc) but all the original parts are carefully packed away in case in 20 years time I decide to put it back to how it left the factory.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
