Winter Tyres on a GTD - Anyone got any - what sort / your thoughts

I have to admit, I haven't bothered with winter tyres and have Micheln PS3's all round, came from the bridgestones RE050A which I didnt think were too bad, but the Michelns are better. I live in a pretty flat area and I try to drive slower when the roads white/icy and leave large gaps for stopping.  Although we dont really get feet of snow.

Same as that, we have a Leon FR diesel (basically same as GTD) on Bridgestone RE050A's and our GTi is on the standard Dunlop's and haven't had an issue over the last few weeks through the snow and our cul de sac has been compacted snow for a week.

Fully appreciate winter tyres would offer more grip, but certainly not had an issues getting about in either car and wife commented how safe she feels in the Golf, saying that she is a very careful driver with a very light right foot.

Guessing if you live in a particularly hilly area the winter tyres come into their own....
