MK3 estate roof rack

To fit a roof rack for a mk3 estate it has to be near enough custom made. I've found bus racks that could fit. However does anyone if the roof bars can be removed or is it a case of attaching the rack to them? :huh:

If I read that right, your trying to fit a 'rack' (luggage basket) to an estate?

The normal process would be to purchase a pair of roof bars* to fit the roof rails* and then fit a suitable roof rack* to the roof bars. If you follow?

If you wish to fit a rack straight to the rails, then you would require some custom work.

*Roof Rails = fitted to estate cars, run the length of the vehicle
*Roof Bars = fitted to roof rails, run the width of the vehicle
*Roof Rack = a storage solution consisting of a metal frame, running both the length and width of the vehicle.

Nice one. It was roof bar section I was unsure of they will fit onto the rails I already have. Thanks
