Can you hear it rattling in the tunnel? Last time we had snow over here, I tore off the rubber bracket at the centre of the exhaust from dragging it over snow mounds in the centre of the road 

So it might not be your cat at all. Get it up on a ramp and get under for a look

My cat heat guard rattled in high revs as one of the four securing nuts had corroded off! But you said you don't have one :/

Have you found the problem pal? Check the center box hangers and also the massive bracket it sits on!

went to have the rattle sorted out today went out to car flat battery nothing had been left on,got it going with a jump put it on a multi metre read 12.5v on tick over when reving the engine it went down to 11.5 ,I think its the alternator maybe it had a brand new battery in april,any ideas

Try to see this as more of a positive than a negative, it's the perfect opportunity for a Milltek downpipe and a high flow cat
