i thought this type of bickering/childish stuff only happened on the likes of SSC & Roybacer etc, obviously not.

Sorry but the main reason for a sagging rear end on a rear disc braked golf is seizing calipers putting excess load on the springs which in turn makes them sag.

Check your rear brakes are working ok before taking the suspension apart.
