wont go past 4500rpm

can someone please help!!!!
just got myself a mk4 gti 1.8 turbo now the car starts fine and idles fine but when i power away the car judders a little
and when i get to 3rd gear i cant get past 4500rpm.
 has anyone had this problem or help me thanx

Get it scanned for fault codes but it is in safe mode at the moment.

got no lights coming on and did put sts in the fuel and its helped a bit someone has said try the fuel filter

Makes no difference if the light is on or off, scan it for codes or else you could spends ages trying to fix it.

Codes dont always help! My Passat 1.8t is playing up big time and no codes showing!

Juddering is usually coil packs or ignition amplifier.

Scan it - if no codes come back then I would look at replacing coil packs or ignition amplifier. My V5 used to judder like mad under accel and didn't bring a code back. It wasn't until I changed the ignition amplifer that it solved the problem.

Could be a really weak fuel pump.

Whats it do it you have it in 4th/5th gear and floor it from about 2000rpm?  Stutter then?

Not from my experience. It would judder under load then clear under cruise conditions.
