H&R or Eibach Sportline springs and exhaust or 19"s?
« on: 09 December 2012, 11:28 »
Any opinions guys? My budget will only really stretch to springs. I'm in two minds which direction to go, lower on std wheels and do the MIJ rear section exhaust or do 19" wheels. But all of the pics I've seen it looks like I'd still need to drop it a bit on 19"s?

I've seen a lot of lowered cars and H&R always seem to get the front to rear balance in both spring rate and stance just about spot on. Eibach are hit and miss and some of the lowering is decidedly wrong!

H&R ....simples.

Thanks for the pics, that's helped me make my mind up. Will I notice much of a ride difference?

And virtually the same pic of my car on Eibach Sportline springs...

I also to and fro'd between H&R and Eibach and I do sometimes feel the Eibachs have left my car looking ever so slightly nose heavy looking, but really being picky as its very subtle. Thing I will end up on coilovers ultimately so am happy for now.

Definitely wouldn't fit bigger wheels on without lowering as that never ends well.

Look forward to seeing what you do

Why not?
Decent lowerd springs and wheels with the proper offset, and lowering on bigger wheels works a treat.

No rubbing or scuffing, no arch mods required, and arches filled nicely.

You have misunderstood my point, I am saying don't fit bigger wheels and leave the suspension oem as it looks rubbish

My alologies...I got the wrong end of the stick.

I agree...standard height and uber small profile tyres on bigger wheels = awful.

sod the exhaust (for now anyway) and get the both the eibachs and some decent shocks to go with them (bilstein and springs are about £500-£600, i love mine)

or you can get h&r cup kit for about £400 and an eibach branded kit or a KW sport kit (both the same shocks and pretty much the same springs) for about £400 too

the difference aftermarket shocks made to the car was very good IMO and if your doing the springs its worth doing the shocks at the same time i reckon

some picture whoring for good measure on eibach sport lines/bilstein B8's
